{Real Parties} Circus Bizirrcus

Katie from The Ivory Social sent me pictures from a circus party she planned for her son's birthday. The colors are great and Katie said it best...it was high in color, sunglasses required!

I am loving the trend of the tiny bunting on cakes!

Thank you Katie for sharing this colorful circus party with us! Katie recently hosted a lovely high tea which you must see! My favorite part is the wallpaper backdrop created by Imprintables.

{Real Parties} A Vintage Circus

Kristina of Modern Frills sent me pictures of her daughter's recent vintage circus birthday and she could not have said it any better....the theme was a lot of vintage with a touch of circus in pinks and yellows.

Kristina handmade many of the party details including the mini bunting on the cake!

The lovely Kim of The TomKat Studio designed the vintage cupcake toppers as well as the party invitations and labels.

Party guests went home with cotton candy flavored popcorn...YUM!

There was also a favor table with little goodies and paper sacks (with the party logo of course!) for the kids to fill up with the fun items.

Ava, the very happy birthday girl!

Party Details:
* Photography by Karen Wright
* The TomKat Studio designed the invitations, labels and cupcake toppers
* Kid Cakes on Etsy made the fondant circles that adorned the cake
* Ava's pink knotted tutu came from Simply Sweet Shoppe on Etsy
* The pretty oilcloth was ordered from Chalkydoodles.

Thank you Kristina for sharing this lovely party with us! You can see more pictures at Modern Frills!

{Real Parties} Two AMAZING Candy Stations Created by Two of My FAVORITE Bloggers

Two absolutely fantastic candy stations were posted this week by two of my favorite fellow bloggers...Michelle from Maddycakes Muse & Natasha from Fete Fanatic. Please check out their blogs for much more eye candy and lots of party details!!

This first candy station was designed by Michelle for a sweet 16 birthday party. The theme was Cirque du Alejandro.

How great is the life size picture backdrop of the honoree??!

A cotton candy tree! I love it! Michelle promised to post a how-to on her blog soon.

This next candy station was designed by Natasha and it is full of fantastic details. This buffet was a nod to the couple's Caribbean heritage.

The color scheme is so vibrant and I really like how she placed the candy...especially in this jar.

This is unique too!

Great job you two! Remember to visit their fabulous blogs, here and here, for many more party details!

Real Parties: A Vintage Circus Birthday

I ADORE this red & aqua vintage circus party that Aly put together for her son's 2nd birthday! All of the details are precious and so easy to recreate for any theme!

The red and white "table runner" was actually wrapping paper which is a fantastic idea...simple, chic and easy to clean up!

Peanuts and animal crackers were available to munch on

Aren't the elephant sandwiches cute?! Cutting sandwiches with cookie cutters in a shape that coordinates with your party theme is such an easy way to add an inexpensive, special touch. I do this often!

How great is it that Aly found popcorn bags with a touch of aqua?!

Aly created this fantastic 3 tiered lucite cake stand!

Homemade cookie favors

Of course a circus party would not be complete without pictures of people wearing clown noses. I'm sure this certainly provided lots of laughter!

Thank you for sharing this party with me, Aly!

All photography was taken by Aly, as she is a professional wedding and portrait photographer

A few party details you might be interested in...

* The red and aqua poms came from Etsy seller, Prost to the Host.
* The gorgeous cake came from Seatle-area pastry chef, Liz Slye of Crimson Cane Cakes.
* Cupcake Royale made the cupcakes.
* The straws were purchased from HEY YoYo on Etsy
* The plastic popcorn containers came from Target and the paper popcorn sacks came from HEY YoYo (same vendor for the straws).
* Aly served gourmet popcorn from Popcorn Pavillion.
* Polka dot wrapping paper was found at Paper Source

Real Parties: Under the Big Top

Do I have a party to share with you! Angela Hudson from Fantasy Celebrations orchestrated this vibrant, fun-filled circus event for her client's 1-year-old son.

The life size baby elephants are a show stopper!

What circus party is complete without carnival games?! The celebration also included a stilt walker, face painter and clown duo! You can see more great photos here.

If you are not familiar with Angela's events (she's been featured on HWTM a handful of times!), head over right now to Fantasy Celebrations to see her inspiring children's parties. She pays incredible attention to detail and the dessert buffets she creates are amazing.

Angela is a fellow Houstonian and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting her one day! If you are in the Houston area and are looking for someone to plan your child's (or adults!) next event, look no further than Fantasy Celebrations.

Real Parties: Cirque du Sadie

As promised, here are pictures of the amazing circus inspired party, Cirque du Sadie. I worked as a wedding and event coordinator with Sadie's mom, Christine, before I had my little ones. Christine also threw the fabulous butterfly party for her daughter's birthday last year. You can see those pictures here.

Most of the photos are from the ever so talented, Leslie Gaworecki, owner of Goodlight Photography. A few of the pictures were taken by yours truly and do not compare to Leslie!
