{Real Parties} A Sweet Princess Party

My friends, Kristen and Allison of Lullaby Lubbock, are two of the most creative people I know! I have two recent parties of theirs to share with you! First up is a sweet princess party with lots of charm...

Photobucket

Like many moms, Kristen tried to avoid the princess party, but she knew it was bound to happen. Avery insisted on the theme for her 5th birthday, so like a good mom, Kristen went with it!

Kristen made the adorable bunting that she hung up all around the house.

The party was from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, so she just served a few sweet treats. The pink thumbprint cookies are from Celebrity Bakery in Dallas which I looove.

How CUTE are the cupcakes in a jar?! Kristen followed the tutorial from Cakies and filled the jars with carrot cake from a recipe on MADE.

Photobucket

To dress up the cupcake jars, Kristen simply cut out pink paper to fit the lid and then topped with a silver crown using a craft punch from Martha Stewart. Then, she wrapped jute around the lid and tied a pink spoon to it.

My favorite part o the party just might be these castles!!! Kristen found the cardbaord castles on Amazon which the kids decorated with stickers and markers.

The invitations were just as cute and heartfelt as the party itself. You can see more pictures and the how-tos on the invitation, HERE.

Nick's Zoo Party - The Invitation

Photobucket

After Kelly sent over the adorable board for Nick's party, we quickly got to work bouncing back and forth ideas for the invitation. I absolutely looove what she came up with! I knew we had to incorporate the colors red and brown since those colors are everywhere in the party room at the zoo. I also did not want to go with the expected animal print. Kelly created the cutest invitation using modern white animal silhouettes and a pennant banner!

Photobucket

With the invitation, Kelly also created several coordinating patterns that we plan to use on many of the paper goods. I won't spoil the surprise on what I have ordered, but let's just say I am so excited to use MANY items from this collection!

Photobucket

Not only do I love the invitation itself, but I was so pleased with the outer presentation. I asked Kelly if we could use kraft envelopes and she quickly sourced them for me. I also have been wanting to use address label wraps and she whipped up a fantastic design! This is a snap shot she took of the envelope design hot off the press. She knew I would want a peek!

The party is next weekend and I can't wait to fill you in on all of the party details! If you are planning a zoo party yourself, or perhaps a safari or jungle themed event, Kelly is now offering Nick's Mod Safari collection in her shop!! You can find it HERE.

California Dreamin' & A Texas Hoedown

This is such a fun twist on two great themes! My friend Sarah is originally from California, but has lived in Texas since college. To celebrate her son's first birthday, they threw TWO parties...one back home in California and one in Texas with all of her Texas friends.

{invitations designed by Hayley Hardcastle}

The party in California had a Western theme to show her family and old friends how we do things here. =) Then, the party in Texas had a California beach theme for us Texans to enjoy.

Everyone received the two-sided invitation in the mail. One side had the Texas party details and the other stated the information for the California party guests.

I wasn't able to help her in person, but we went back and forth through e-mail to come up with some cute idea. Sarah did a fantastic job with the party decor which I will share very soon. Stay tuned for more!

Confetti Invitation

This darling invitation immediately caught my eye when I saw it a few months ago over at Creature Comforts. It would be perfect for a bubble theme bash or polka dot party. I also think it would be fun to add photofetti along with the paper circles.

To recreate the look, you can find the vellum envelopes at Paper and More. There are many Etsy sellers who offer custom rubber stamps like this one here.

Pencil Invitation

Don't you just love this save-the-date idea?! I have had it saved in one of my many party planning binders for years and have always wanted to find an excuse to use it. I have noticed many bloggers throwing back-to-school bashes. This pencil bundle would be a perfect invitation! Not to mention actually useful as well.
